Ron Wood Album Details

Eddie Vedder guest stars

One of rock's legendary figures is set to return soon with Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood preparing to release a new album.

Ronnie Wood began life working with The Birds, one of the top acts on the British R&B circuit. The group split and Wood began working with the Jeff Beck Group before joining former Mod icons The Small Faces.

Now with Rod Stewart as their lead singer, The Faces became one of the best loved groups on the planet during their 70s heyday. The band's bad boy charm and their raucous R&B sound meant that they captured the hearts of rock fans and have been cited as an influence by everyone from The Black Crowes to Oasis.

The Faces reformed last year, and are reportedly set to tour later this year. Aside from his involvement with that project Ronnie Wood is also a member of The Rolling Stones, but seems to have found time to craft a new solo album.

Wood is thought to have recorded twelve tracks for the forthcoming album which is due to be titled 'More Good News'.

Producer Bob Rock told Billboard the album “is gonna be great”, adding that the guitarist was “trying to get on it”.

Ronnie Wood's last solo album was 'Not For Beginners' in 2001. Wood has been keeping himself busy recently, inducting Bobby Womack into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in a ceremony in Cleveland over the weekend.

The guitarist later joined in on an allstar jam featuring an ensemble cast of Metallica, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and more.

Ronnie Wood's new album 'More Good News' is due for release later this year.
