Rolling Stones Ronnie Wood Arrested

Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood has been arrested by Surrey police on suspicion of assault.

Making his name on the British R&B circuit, Ronnie Wood joined The Faces as the 70s dawned. One of the nation's best loved groups the band have been dogged by rumours of a reformation in recent times.

According to sources close to the group The Faces are set to play a series of shows next year, with Ronnie Wood's current employers The Rolling Stones taking a well earned break.

However those plans have been thrown into disarray by Ronnie Wood's arrest. The guitarist was arrested by Surrey police earlier today (December 4th) on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend.

A police spokesman said: "We can confirm that a 62-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with a domestic incident."

The spokesman confirmed that Ronnie Wood had been released on bail until January, pending "further enquiries".

Speaking to BBC News, the police claimed that the legendary guitarist was arrested after an "incident" but declined to comment further.

Ronnie Wood left his wife last year to begin a relationship with his 20 year old girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova. The subject of much tabloid discussion the guitarist was granted a divorce last month after a marriage of 24 years.

Ronnie Wood has made no comment on the incident.
