The original version of the iconic Rolling Stones tongue and lips logo has gone up for auction, where it was bought for $92,500.
Designed in 1970 by an art student named John Pasche, the design has gone on to be used on every piece of Stones endorsed product since their 1971 album "Sticky Fingers".
The design was chosen by the band after they rejected a series of ideas produced by their record label as being too tame. The design has gone on to become instantly recognizable, but the designer John Pasche was only paid £250 for the logo.
The original design was bought by the Victoria and Albert museum for $92,500, in co-operation with the independent art charity The Art Fund.
