The Rolling Stones have launched a new digital archive featuring some rare live material.

A travelling rock 'n' roll circus, The Rolling Stones have been quiet for too long. The legendary group are approaching their 50th anniversary, with fans waiting for their next move.

Right now, though, the band are concentrating on their new digital archive. Launched online, the digital archive comes complete with the infamous live document 'The Brussels Affair' - originally recorded back in 1973.

Featuring The Rolling Stones in their prime, the much bootlegged shows were the penultimate leg on their European tour. Launched in the aftermath of the 'Goat's Head Soup' album, the tour often saw the band playing two shows a day.

Hardened by months on the road, the blistering Brussels show was passed from fan to fan for years. Now a professionally mastered copy will be available online, taken from the original multi-track masters recorded by Andy Johns on the Rolling Stones Mobile unit. Longtime Stones collaborator Bob Clearmountain was on hand to apply the final mix.

Alongside music, fans can expect to see rare memorabilia including the original set lists from those epochal Brussels shows.

Meanwhile, rumours of a potential anniversary tour continue to linger. Keith Richards recently revealed that members of The Rolling Stones are set to meet up to begin rehearsals - albeit without frontman Mick Jagger.

The guitarist is planning to hook up with Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts over the coming weeks. "We're just going to play a little together, because we haven't played for three or four years" he told Rolling Stone. "You don't necessarily want to rehearse or write anything - you just want to touch bases."

Continuing, Keith Richards claimed that Mick Jagger would definitely be "welcome" at the rehearsals. "That's a good start: me, Charlie and Ronnie. Mick's welcome, and I'm sure he'll turn up, but right now we just want to get our chops down."
