The organisers of RockNess have unveiled a new competition which gives you the chance to DJ at the festival.

Held in the stunning Scottish Highlands, RockNess has built up a strong reputation for mixing dance and rock. Creating a hedonistic atmosphere, this is one place where the party doesn't stop when the sun goes down.

Amassing an intimidating array of DJs, your name could appear alongside Booka Shade, Soulwax and Aphex Twin. RockNess have launched a new competition which allows unknown turntable talent to appear at the festival.

The judging panel is set to include Rockness festival director Jim King and the boss of Soma Records Dave Clarke. Soma have an incredible history, having been the first label to spot the potential of Daft Punk.

With Sub Club legend Harri also set to have a say, the judging panel boasts some serious credentials. The winner will be chosen at RockNess, with all of the shortlisted DJs gaining slots are pre-festival events.

The shortlist will be tested at super charged events across Scotland, before a final showdown at RockNess. Taking place at the Bollywood Arena the grand finale will see the winner chosen at the festival.

Gaining a huge boost to their profile, the winner's 30 minute mix will be placed on the RockNess website. Speaking on the launch, Festival Director Jim King said "We were blown away by the response and quality of entrants when we launched the RockNess DJ competition last year and this really is another great opportunity for any aspiring DJ to grab hold of as they'll get the chance to play in front of a large audience and gain some really valuable exposure."

"A great twist this year is that all the finalists will be heading to the festival itself for the Grand Finale in the Bollywood Arena on the Saturday with the overall winner announced on the night before going on to close the entire festival on the Sunday night back in the Bollywood Arena. This really is a once in a lifetime chance to set your DJ'ing wheels in motion."
