The improv-inclined brother duo that is Ben and Tom Page - RocketNumberNine - have a new album dropping on Smalltown Supersound. Once again showing a disdain for spaces between words, their second full-length offering will be named ‘MeYouWeYou’.
After meeting Kieran Hebden through the late jazz drummer Steve Reid, he produced and released the band’s 14 minute ‘Matthew & Toby’ on his Text imprint. The LP was recorded and mixed in a day without seeing a computer – a purely analogue endeavour.
More recently, the duo toured with electronic veterans Caribou, James Holden and Nathan Fake. The Chingford pair have fused electronic and jazz sounds for the past eight years, earning them admiration from the likes of Gilles Peterson and Thom Yorke.
And rumours are currently floating around about a collaboration with Miss Neneh Cherry. Watch this space…
Taken from 'MeYouWeYou' here's 'Rotunda'.
Smalltown Supersound will release ‘MeYouWeYou’ on May 21st.
