Robert Plant Grammy Haul
Singer takes home five gongs
Former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant has enjoyed a stunning night at the Grammy Awards taking home a total of five awards.
The singer worked with country artist Alison Krauss on the hugely successful album 'Raising Sand' last year. Highly acclaimed, the album was nominated in a number of categories, eventually waltzing off with five awards.
The pair met at a Leadbelly tribute, and soon after began writing together. The resultant album dominated the glitzy Grammy ceremony, winning 'Album Of The Year' while the single 'Please Read The Letter' won 'Record Of The Year'.
"I'd like to say I'm bewildered," Plant told the audience.
"In the old days we would have called this selling out. But it's a good way to spend a Sunday."
Plant recently scotched rumours of a Led Zeppelin reunion, and the pair are set to return to the studio soon to begin work on a follow up.
Alison Krauss meanwhile had better build a bigger mantelpiece - her share in the haul takes her Grammy collection to a staggering twenty six awards.
