Richard Hawley Show Postponed

Weather blamed by promoters

A forthcoming show by Richard Hawley has been postponed amid concerns over the plummeting temperatures.

Take a look outside - it's cold. Damn cold. Snow is falling all over the country with the British transport network struggling to cope.

As yet, the live music schedule has not been hampered by the weather but with more and more tours due to launch it seems to be a matter of time before the Big Freeze begins to bite into the lives of gig goers.

Sheffield troubadour Richard Hawley is the first major artist to fall victim to the weather. Finishing the year on a high with a number of sold out shows the singer has intended to start 2010 with a bang.

Due to play the Royal Festival Hall in London on January 9th, the show has now been pushed back. In a statement promoters apologised for the action, but insisted that worsening weather conditions had forced the decision.

"Due to much of the country’s transport network being affected by adverse weather conditions, we are concerned that many ticket holders will not be able to attend Richard Hawley’s concert" a statement read.

Richard Hawley's show has now been re-scheduled for January 23rd. "We hope that the rescheduled date will make it easier for people to attend. We apologise if this is not the case and ask that if you have tickets for the 9th but are unable to attend on the 23rd that you contact the box office for details of refunds."

Richard Hawley is now set to play the following show:

January
23 London Royal Festival Hall
