Richard Hawley One Off London Show

Royal Festival Hall show confirmed

Sheffield troubadour Richard Hawley has confirmed details of a one off show in London.

Richard Hawley is steeped in the history of Sheffield. The singer's parents performed in Working Men's Clubs across the North of England, exposing the young musician to world away from the glamour of the charts.

The songwriter frequently calls on the sounds and atmosphere of those clubs for his own recordings. New album 'Truelove's Gutter' uses old country and western songs as its reference points, at times sounding like an easy listening record.

Gaining warm reviews, it marked a new plateau in the career of Richard Hawley. The album was a chart hit, buoyed by years of touring.

The one time Longpigs musician also spent time in Pulp before striking out on his own almost a decade ago. Since then Richard Hawley has released a succession of well received albums, as well as playing guitar on an All Saints hit.

Finishing the year with a London show on Wednesday (November 19th) the singer is set to open 2010 with a new live date. Set to play London's Royal Festival Hall on January 9th the show follows on from an upcoming performance at Mencap Little Noise Sessions.

Also due to take part in the Mencap sessions are the likes of Florence And The Machine, Editors, David Gray and many more. Tickets for some events are still available - check the website for details!
