Richard Hawley Moves Belfast Show
To join Electric Proms line up
Deeply Northern songwriter Richard Hawley has moved the Belfast date on his upcoming UK tour.
Richard Hawley is steeped in the culture and history of Sheffield. A session guitarist, he later joined Britpop icons Pulp before leaving for the Longpigs. Ultimately, though, he wished to strike out under his own name.
Releasing his debut solo album 'Richard Hawley' in 2001, thereafter has flowed a series of albums outlining his unique musical palette. Richard Hawley blends languid easy listening and country sounds to re-create the atmosphere of a smoky working men's club.
The songwriter last released an album in 2007 with 'Lady's Bridge'. Named after a once glorious landmark in Sheffield the record prompted a campaign to have the real life Lady's Bridge returned to its former glory.
Richard Hawley was no doubt pleased at the work done on the bridge, even attending the re-opening ceremony. However Hawley has not stopped looking to the future with work completed on his new album.
'Truelove's Gutter' is the title of Richard Hawley's new album, due for release later this year. A typically stunning piece of songwriting the record has already gained some sizzling reviews from those lucky enough to have heard it.
Due to head out on a full scale UK tour soon, Richard Hawley has been forced to move his forthcoming date in Belfast's Ulster Hall. Due to take place on October 23rd the show has now been shifted to December 2nd.
The Sheffield based singer has been invited to join the cast of this year's BBC Electric Proms in London. It is not certain what involvement Richard Hawley will take in the concert series.
Richard Hawley will now play the following show:
December
2 Belfast Ulster Hall
