Richard Hawley For Mencap Sessions
Singer added to Little Noise event
Sheffield songwriter Richard Hawley has been added to the line up for Mencap's Little Noise sessions.
Richard Hawley has a lifetime of music behind him. Musical from an early age, his family entertained in Working Men's Club in Yorkshire, giving the young songwriter a unique insight into the industry.
Through The Longpigs and then Pulp the guitarist became a recognisable figure in the Britpop era before striking out on his own. However instead of the acerbic pop of his former employers Richard Hawley decided to take inspiration from an era before The Beatles.
Influenced by easy listening and country & western, the singer's albums have struck a chord with those raised outside the hip indie hotspots. Recent release 'Truelove's Gutter' stayed true to Richard Hawley's musical template, featuring some gorgeous moments of songwriting.
Now the singer has been added to the line up for this year's Mencap Little Noise Sessions. Richard Hawley is set to play London's Union Chapel venue on November 19th, as part of the charity event.
Joining the Sheffield troubadour on the bill are up and coming indie hot shots Hockey as well as I Blame Coco - featuring Sting's daughter Coco Sumner on lead vocals.
Already confirmed for Little Noise Sessions are the likes of X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, Editors and Florence And The Machine. The event opens on November 16th and runs through to November 24th.
Richard Hawley has confirmed the following UK date:

24 London Union Chapel
