Signed lanyard up for grabs

Richard Ashcroft has signed his lanyard from the recent Japanese Tsunami Appeal concert in London.

The disaster in Japan has shocked the world. Scenes of an industrial, forward thinking nation clinging to survival have left viewers shaken, with news reports now warning of possible nuclear leaks.

Aid is flooding into Japan, with tremors continuing in the north of the country. A recent show in London saw the likes of Beady Eye, The Coral and Paul Weller donate their services to a packed out crowd in the Brixton Academy.

Raising more than £140,000 for charity, the show will donated all funds directly to the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal. Taking place on April 3rd, various artefacts from the gig have been sold online to raise more funds.

Richard Ashcroft broke cover to perform at the show, making a rare live appearance in London. Playing a handful of tracks from throughout his career, the one time Verve icon also threw in a Beatles cover.

Now the singer has decided to auction off his lanyard. Autographing the pass he was given, the Verve frontman has placed the item on eBay, with fans able to bid on this piece of merchandise.

Licking his wounds, Richard Ashcroft is now focussing on his next move with new track 'Future's Bright' written for the new film 'The Adjustment Bureau'.

The United Nations Of Sound feature prominently throughout the film, sparking the American release of their debut album.
