Complete with a live disc...

R.E.M. are set to re-issue their celebrated 1987 album 'Document' as a double disc set.
By 1987, R.E.M. were too big to be a cult concern and too obtuse to ever really capture the mainstream. The band were looking for a moment, for a single track to push them over the edge without losing sight of their identity.
Then they released 'The One I Love'. R.E.M.'s first true crossover moment, it sparked the group's ascent to world stardom and launched 'Document' - the band's final album for IRS Records.
In keeping with an ongoing campaign, 'Document' is set to be re-issued in line with its 25th anniversary. Set to be released on September 24th, the original recordings will be spruced up while a complete archive concert has been added.
Released on CD, download and 180g vinyl, 'Document' comes equipped with new liner notes by journalist David Daley.
R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck gave an introduction to 'Document' at 1987's New Music Seminar. Recorded for posterity, you can listen to it below.
