Red Hot Chili Peppers New Guitarist
Josh Klinghoffer plays first show
American funk rock idols Red Hot Chili Peppers have unveiled their new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer.
Red Hot Chili Peppers have never been one of the most stable bands. Balancing partying with recording schedules, the band are famed for their debauched rock thrills.
Often appearing onstage with only carefully placed socks to hide their modesty, Red Hot Chili Peppers have risen to become one of the planet's biggest rock groups. However the band went on hiatus in 2008, and recently guitarist John Frusciante confirmed that he would not be coming back.
Frusciante has left the band before, and has enjoyed a lengthy if somewhat polarising solo career. However this time it seems as if the guitarist is set to depart Red Hot Chili Peppers for the last time.
The band were invited to play a pre-Grammy awards show in honour of Neil Young, and decided to unveil new six stringer Josh Klinghoffer.
A highly regarded session musician, Klinghoffer joined the band after the departure of Frusciante. Although widely reported to be a permanent replace Red Hot Chili Peppers have refused to confirm whether the guitarist is to become a full time member.
Currently working on their new album, Red Hot Chili Peppers rushed through a version of Neil Young's classic track 'A Man Needs A Maid'. Performing in front of the songwriter himself, the show on Friday Night (January 29th) was an enormous success.
