Rascals Debut New Material

Liverpool Group Cover John Lennon

Liverpool group The Rascals played The Scala in London last night (December 16th) introducing fans to a number of new tracks and a very special John Lennon cover.

The Wirral trio released their acclaimed debut album 'Rascalize' earlier this year, but were rather obscured by lead singer Miles Kane's involvement with the Mercury nominated Last Shadow Puppets project.

Watched by fellow Last Shadow Puppet (and full-time Arctic Monkey) Alex Turner as well as actor and film-maker Richard Ayoade, the band rattled through a crowd pleasing set.

"We just got back off a European tour and we wrote this song in 20 minutes in the back of the van in Germany," frontman Miles Kane told the crowd as he introduced 'Chills And Fever'.

As well as new songs the band played two covers. Kane & Co. rascalized the Echo & The Bunnymen classic 'All That Jazz' before finishing with a rendition of John Lennon's solo classic 'Instant Karma'.
