Rare Beatles Track Emerges
McCartney Confirms Rumors
Sir Paul McCartney has confirmed the existence of the long-rumored Beatles track 'Carnival Of Light' and insists that he wants to release the song to the public.
The song was apparently recorded in 1967 as part of the 'Million Volt Light And Sound Rave'. One of the pivotal events in launching the 'Summer Of Love', the event was marked by the recording of a 15 minute track by the Fab Four which has remained unheard ever since.
In a recent interviewed with BBC Radio 4 McCartney confirmed that the song is not a myth. "It does exist. We were set up in the studio and would just go in every day and record.
"I said to the guys, this is a bit indulgent, but would you mind giving me 10 minutes? All I want you to do is just wander round all the stuff and bang it, shout, play it. Then we put a bit of echo on it. It's very free."
The song was apparently recorded after the overdub sessions for 'Penny Lane' and features such bizarre treats as the group screaming 'Barcelona!' and random bursts of feedback.
