Radiohead On Grammys
Band question importance of awards
Grammy grabbing British group Radiohead have questioned the importance of the award ceremony in a new interview.
After mangling the music industry 'In Rainbows' seems to be picking up a never ending trail of awards. With the Brit Awards still to come, Radiohead claimed two awards at the Grammys last night (February 8th) including the coveted 'Best Alternative Album'.
However in a new interview with Associated Press guitarist Johnny Greenwood admitted he is bemused by the ceremony. "I'm confused, because whenever I watch The Simpsons, they're very rude about the Grammys. It's hard to know how important they are!"
In the show Homer Simpson's group The B Sharps win an award, but Homer throws it away in disgust.
The band performed at the glitzy event, enrolling the USC Marching Band for a memorable television event. Asked how that affect's the band's profile, Greenwood replied "It's a big paradox for us. We're sort of ambitious, but maybe not ambitious enough."
"You hear some bands saying they want to be the biggest they want to be the greatest. We do and we don't."
"We don't and then we see other bands doing really well, and then we say, 'We should be doing some of that, we should be a little bit like that'."
