Radiohead For Frequency

One of Britain's most celebrated acts Radiohead are set to play this summer's Frequency festival in Austria.

In the tunnel vision of the British media, many people assume that the festival stops at the Channel. Yet the European festival season boasts many events that can compete with, and outstrip, the very best that this sceptred isle has to offer.

Frequency is the latest event to spring up, which promises to bring together some of the finest acts around. Set in the city of St. Polten the event has captured a stunning coup by announcing Radiohead as headliners.

The Oxford group are one of the most celebrated rock acts on the planet. Live appearances are thin on the ground, with Radiohead only playing one UK festival slot this summer. The band have just returned from a tour of Central and South America, but despite their success it was recently revealed that a member of their management team advised Radiohead to split up.

Joining the legendary band on the bill are returning rave heroes The Prodigy and disco diva Grace Jones. Jones once entered Studio 54 completely naked, and her set at last year's Bestival has already gone down in the annals of festival history.

British indie heroes such as Bloc Party and Kasabian are also set to perform alongside Oscar winning world pop star M.I.A. Canadian group Crystal Castles will brush off yet more controversy to play the Austrian event, and will be joined by Eagles Of Death Metal.

Frequency takes place between August 20th - 22nd.
