Radiohead Cover Pete Gabriel

Song swap continues

Oxford giants Radiohead are set to record a special cover of Peter Gabriel's 1982 hit 'Wallflower'.

Radiohead have been busy of late. When not playing solo shows, Thom Yorke has re-joined his troops for extensive recording sessions. New material is fast approaching, with a Peter Gabriel cover among them.

The band are set to take part in the one time Genesis frontman's 'song swap' project. The prog pioneer has been re-working contemporary music for his new album 'Scratch My Back' which consists entirely of covers.

Gabriel covers Elbow, Regina Spektor and more for the album with many of those involved returning the favour. Radiohead are the first to confirm their involvement, with the Oxford giants tackling 'Wallflower'.

Speaking to fans in a podcast Peter Gabriel said: "Thom wanted to do a version of 'Wallflower' which I'm very curious to hear".

"I think that was an important track for him when he was 14" the former Genesis star added.

Peter Gabriel is due to tackle the Radiohead classic 'Street Spirit (Fade Out)' on his new album. Coincidentally, the Oxford group closed their recent Los Angeles charity show with the 1995 track.

Organised to raise money for the relief effort in Haiti, tickets for the show were sold in an online auction. Reports from the United States suggest that the scheme was a huge success, with some fans paying as much as $2000 for a ticket.

Overall, Radiohead raised a jaw-dropping $572,754.
