Radiohead Blast UK Government

Nuclear stance "confused"

Oxford giants Radiohead have blasted the British government over their pro-nuclear stance.

Radiohead have long been known as fans of green causes. The band's environmental concerns have seen them offset carbon emissions from their touring schedule, becoming the first carbon neutral rock group on the planet.

So it should come as no surprise that the band are opposed to nuclear power. However with the increased demand for power, the British government have decided to expand the number of nuclear stations in Britain.

Writing on the official Radiohead website singer Thom Yorke claimed the government is "confused" over its stance on the issue.

"Under the confused assumption that we can carry on consuming power as we do now into the future, and too afraid to think out of their own isolated political fuzzy cloud, the British government is committing to build a new round of nuclear power stations for which we don't have the money," Yorke wrote.

He added: "Great. Just perfect. Well done fellas. You've really thought about this haven't you?"

Thom Yorke continued to lambast the government, claiming that he feels the CBI (Confederation Of British Industry) is pressurising the government on the issue.

The singer ended his posting by linking to two long-standing friends of Radiohead - Greenpeace and Friends Of The Earth.
