Ed O'Brien reveals
Oxford giants Radiohead are set to head into the studio this winter in order to continue work on their new album.
Radiohead are now one of the most respected bands on the planet. Sure, their albums night not top the charts in the manner of Coldplay but each move the group makes can shape the music industry in their own image.
In recent months the band's decision to release 'In Rainbows' as a pay what you like download has become much debated, particularly due to Ed O'Brien's involvement with the Featured Artists Coalition.
Now it seems that Radiohead are now set to let their music do the talking. Speaking to NME Ed O'Brien claimed that the band plan to head back to the studio in a few months.
"Typical Radiohead," he told NME. "We're going into the studio in winter. It's always miserable! When you're in a studio in the countryside the music you make is definitely affected by what season it is."
The band are due to work with long time producer Nigel Godrich. Speaking to the NME, Ed O'Brien squashed hints by Thom Yorke that Radiohead are set to abandon conventional album releases.
"WE WILL BE MAKING AN ALBUM!" he joked. "We love the artwork; that's really important to us, the physicality. And we like vinyl. That's not going to go away."
Fans have already been given a hint of the new album. Radiohead released the song 'Harry Patch' as a tribute to the First World War veteran, and followed this with a fresh download release.
Radiohead are currently recording their new album.
