Queen Star In Foo Fighters Team Up
Roger Taylor plots new project
Hard hitting Queen drummer Roger Taylor has claimed that he would love to work with Foo Fighters' sticksman Taloyr Hawkins.
More than fifteen years after the tragically early death of Freddie Mercury Queen remain musical icons. The remaining band members recently reformed to perform on X Factor, attracting an audience of millions.
However the musicians are still crafting new music. Queen released an album with Paul Rodgers, while drummer Roger Taylor has revealed he would love to work with Foo Fighters rhythm merchant Taylor Hawkins.
"I’ve been thinking about doing a tour next year - a very quick tour - with Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters," he explained to BBC 6Music. "He’s like one of my best blood brothers! So we might do that. That sounds like fun.
"He’s awesome. I love him. He’s got such a great, open approach to life."
Queen have enjoyed some record breaking success recently. The band's compilation 'Greatest Hits 1' album has become the best selling record since charts were started over 50 years ago, beating acts such as The Beatles in the process.
"I must admit, we were quite amazed when we heard that," Taylor continued, "I’m a big Beatles fan, but it’s wonderful. Things like that are very nice, they’re really cherry’s on top of our age.
"I think it’s a technical achievement, but it’s very nice. I’ll tell my Mum."
Roger Taylor releases his new single 'The Unblinking Eye (Everything Is Broken)' on November 23rd.
