A London based fundraiser for imprisoned Russian punks Pussy Riot has been organised.

The jail sentence handed down to Pussy Riot is continuing to cause reverberations. Set to spend two years in jail, the Russian punk band have found vocal support from musicians around the globe.

Now a fundraiser has been set up in London. Popular and White On White is association with Shatterjapan are hosting a free event at Hoxton Sq. Bar & Kitchen on September 9th, featuring a cross section of new music.

The line up matches live performance with one off DJ sets, including a few special guests along the way. Live sets have so far been confirmed from Peggy Sue, Skinny Girl Diet, Neurotic Mass Movement and She Makes War while DJ sets have been announced by New Young Pony Club, Esben And The Witch, Night Works, Vuvuvultures and Zoetrope.

Speakers at the event include Kerry McCarthy MP, Penny Arcade, Lisa Gornick, Pratibha Parmar with more set to be announced.
