The Prodigy emerged from the illegal rave scene in the early 90s, becoming chart stars with their 'toytown techno' hit 'Charlie'. One of the most notorious, best loved and most influential groups of the era The Prodigy blended dance with rock, breaking down barriers and offending the mainstream.
1994's 'Music For The Jilted Generation' remains a seminal album, and each subsequent album release by the group has soared in at number one. The Prodigy have already sold over 100,000 copies of their new album, making it one of the year's fastest selling releases so far.
Elsewhere on the albums chart the Top Ten remains dominated by Brit award winners with Duffy, Elbow, The Ting Tings and more selling well.
