Prince vs Vine

Icon issues Twitter takedown...

Prince has demanded that Twitter remove several performances and synchronisations featuring his material from Vine.

Prince has always been what tech gurus label an 'early adopter'. Staying ahead of shifts in technology, the American artist was able to shift and adapt in ways that other performances from his generation simply could not. So it comes as no surprise to find that Prince has immediately devoured Vine.

A new camera service from Twitter, it has spread like wildfire with users tending to post office pranks and short messages. However the American artist quickly found references to his material on the service.

According to The Next Web, Prince issued Twitter with a takedown message in reference to eight postings which contain “unauthorized recordings” and “unauthorized synchronizations.”

The message was sent on March 22nd, with The Next Web pointing out that Twitter appear to have complied with the request – Vine seems notably devoid of Prince content these days.

Oh, and while you're here…
