Prince Plays Secret Gig

In his own house

Pop megastar Prince played a secret gig in his Los Angeles home at the weekend (January 31st).

An event held to launch his new website, the secret show was witnessed by only a few dozen people. The 'Purple Rain' star was accompanied by a full band, and blasted out a set featuring hits alongside new material.

The audience was comprised of a handful of journalists, competition winners and guests including soul singer Anita Baker. having fun throughout, Prince threw in a few covers playing 'Le Freak' by Chic, 'Stand' by Sly And The Family Stone and the classic Rolling Stones track 'Miss You'.

The artist's new website will be named Lotusflow3r.com and features the same futuristic style that flows through his forthcoming album, also titled 'Lotus Flow3r'.

Prince has taken to promoting his new album in increasingly odd ways, including playing a few tracks on a Los Angeles radio station.

The new site will stream video and audio, offering subscription paying fans exclusive content. In addition to this, Prince will apparently release three albums through the website this year alone: 'MPLSound', 'Lotus Flow3r' and the debut album from Bria Valente.
