Prince Plagiarism Case

US star in court drama

Era defining, globe trotting megastar Prince is embroiled in a court battle with an Italian judge ruling that a 1994 track plagiarises one crafted by an Italian duo.

Prince's song 'The Most Beautiful Girl In The World' is embroiled in a new legal battle. Italian composers Bruno Bergonzi and Michele Vicino claim the song borrows from their 1983 composition 'Takin' Me To Paradise'.

The case has been ongoing for over a decade, with the latest judgement made on January 9th finding in the duo's favour. Speaking to Billboard Bergonzi explained:

"When we first heard Prince's song we immediately took action, but this case has been dragging on for 15 years and it isn't over yet, such is the slowness of the Italian legal system. We only decided to go public with our story now."

If the duo win their case then Prince may have to pay back loyalties.

Prince has yet to comment on the ruling.
