Primal Scream For SXSW

Legendary music showcase event SXSW has revealed the first of its line up for this year's instalment, with Primal Scream and Peter, Bjorn and John amongst those confirmed for 2009.

Taking over virtually the entire city, the Austin, Texas event is amongst the biggest music industry events on the planet. In the past SXSW has acted as a showcase for acts such as The White Stripes, while each year hot new bands come away with freshly inked record contracts.

Amongst the bands confirmed for the 2009 event are White Lies, hotly tipped Swedish singer Ida Maria, Ben Kweller, Asobi Seksu and many more.

As usual, Clash will be making the trip to SXSW. Last year's Clash showcase party boasted an appearance from Carbon / Silicon which draw huge crowds stretching down the highway.

SXSW is set to take place at the Austin Convention Centre, and various other venues in the city, between March 18th and 22nd.
