Preview: Strummerville 40 Years Of Punk Party-val

Joe Strummer Foundation takes over The Railway Tavern on June 4th

The Joe Strummer Foundation is set to celebrate 40 years of punk in South-East London’s finest boozer this June. The charity, which provides opportunities for musicians and global music projects, will bring a taste of new and old to Tulse Hill’s favourite haunt with a stellar line-up of punk artists from the ‘70s up to today.

The fundraiser will kick off at 5pm and run into the early hours, with live performances and DJ sets taking place throughout the night. The night’s bill includes a plethora of talent from around the UK, ranging from stalwarts of the scene The Homosexuals to new-kids-on-the-block Life.

The evening will also see appearances from the likes of incendiary punk rockers Shame and Camberwell-based Sleaze, as well as a DJ set from Rompas Reggae Shack. Trojan Whores are due to grace the stage with their filthy tunes, while Skinny Girl Diet will provide the politically induced punk. Closing the night is notorious DJ and Grammy award-winner Don Letts with a special two-hour set.

A limited amount of £5 tickets are available for the celebration and with the abundance of talent due to hit the stage on June 4th, it’s highly recommended to snap them up quickly!
