San Franciso-based alt-rockers Weekend are to release their second LP, 'Jinx', in the UK next week (November 25th).
The album comes via Strange Dog Records, and has already received plenty of acclaim in the US, from places such as Pitchfork and Spin. Places that tend to know excellence from excrement.
The seeds of Weekend were sown when founding members Shaun Durkan (vocals, bass, guitar) and Kevin Johnson (guitar) were just 12, when they played in a middle school band together. Getting into acts like Killing Joke and The Cure, a firm bond formed - and it doesn't take too long in the company of their music today to realise that said bands have proved significant influences. The pair is joined by Abe Pedroza on drums for 'Jinx'.
Speaking of which, here's an exclusive preview of a track from 'Jinx', 'July'. It is entirely good.
