Warm Brains are gearing up to release new EP 'Happy Accidents' - listen to it now.
Rory Attwell is the go-to-man for anyone wanting to achieve that tattered 'n' torn, DIY sound. Adding some true grit to his recordings, the producer has worked on fantastic releases from the likes of Big Deal, Veronica Falls and Scottish noiseniks PAWS.
Using his boat/home/studio Lightship95 as a base, Rory Attwell is also powering Warm Brains. Something of the Flying Dutchman of the East London scene, the group's performances have taken on a mythical air primarily due to their sparsity.
However the band's obvious talent, their knack for skewering your heart with off kilter pop hooks certainly helps. New EP 'Happy Accidents' is set to be released on December 16th, with Art Is Hard stepping in to show support.
Available digitally, 'Happy Accidents' will also be pressed onto cassette while the label is planning to issue some copies as a ‘football-style’ scarf complete with download card.
Ahead of this, Clash is able to premiere the title track. With its staggered, post-punk derived rhythm and stuttering, Pavement style guitar lines this is sheer slacker-pop heaven, with the odd reference to Grandstand thrown in for good measure.
Seemingly commemorating a caravanning holiday in the North West, 'Happy Accidents' is a slice of deliciously awkward, Sebadoh style cool.
