Mysterious new R&B savant...

Until The Ribbon Breaks is set to give his new EP 'A Taste Of Silver' a UK release - listen to a teaser on Clash.

Somehow, the broken splinters of R&B have been gathered into a uniquely 21st century canvas for modern ennui. A new generation of producers are picking apart the glossy template of 90s producers such as Timbaland and The Neptunes, using it to map inner continents.

Placing his material online, Until The Ribbon Breaks (real name Peter Lawrie Winfield) has become a dramatic new voice in this movement. New EP 'A Taste Of Silver' has already received a Stateside release, with the material now due to become available for British fans.

If you register at the producer's webpage now, then you will receive 'A Taste Of Silver' as a free download. Containing new material, the EP will also boast remixes from TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek, Burns, ViLLΛGE, Ta-Ku and Holy Other.

Stripped from the EP, '2025' is imbued with apocalyptic imagery. Seeming to draw on science fiction, it's a pared down, beaten up production with Peter Lawrie Winfield placing his vocals at the forefront. ALFi steps in on remix duties, enhancing the dread and picking up the intensity.

Listen to it now.
