Robert Alfons work – at its best – hinges on a sense of drama.
Sure, those lush sounds, those sudden dark spaces draw you in, but it's the melodrama, the sweeping atmospheres which penetrate deep down.
2012's debut album 'TRST' saw Trust gain widespread acclaim, including a Juno nomination. Since then, Alfons has continued to shift and evolve, letting his music grow in the process.
New album 'Joyland' was an impressive return, with Alfons describing it as "an eruption of guts, eels and joy".
Frozen centrepiece 'Peer Pressure' has been re-worked by FOXTROTT. Lowering the temperature until Trust's production shatters into pieces, the emotional core of Robert Alfons work is retained.
