Snap, crackle, rock: here’s something mightily loud to enjoy over your cereal (which, of course, you can enjoy at any time of day).
Hereford’s Talons are back with an almighty wallop, as the instrumental sextet’s second album is set for release really soon (August 4th!) via the Big Scary Monsters label. Ahead of then, Clash is pleased to present the premiere of ‘The Wild Places’, a ripper of a track that just about blows our socks, shoes and toenails off.
Album two, titled ‘New Topographics’, follows 2010’s rather excellent ‘Hollow Realm’, which someone or other reviewed for BBC Music, saying: “this is math-rock with the fieriest of hearts, its makers possessing the ability to carve mosh-along anthems from classical templates.” He knows his marbles, that fellow.
Here’s ‘The Wild Places’. Sitting is recommended, less you be knocked down. For fans of: Battles, Russian Circles, right brilliant rackets.
And look, here! A lovely trailer for Talons’ second album. Delightful.
