Premiere: Royce Wood Junior - Hardly

Had 'Nuff'? Have some more...

Royce Wood Junior: hardly a household name just yet, but then, Daz isn’t exactly know for its most splendidly off-kilter electro-R&B concoctions, is it? It’s a washing powder.

London-based producer/songwriter Royce, on the other hand, might well be crap at cleaning your clothes. But he’s riding a nice wave of buzz in the music world, his debut track ‘Nuff’ making an impression with DJs like MistaJam, Annie Mac and that excitable New Zealander who’s always banging on about records being so hot. Shouldn’t leave them out in the sun, mate.

Now comes ‘Hardly’, which Clash is premiering right here. Like, seriously. On this page. Down there. Splendid ain’t it, this internet business. The track comprises a quarter of Royce’s forthcoming ‘Tonight Matthew’ EP, out through Parlez Parlez on April 21st. Those other tracks come titled thusly: ‘Beeline’, ‘Further More’ and, quelle surprise, ‘Nuff’. Well, you wouldn’t leave it off, would you.

With working relationships established with people like Jamie Woon and Kwabs, Royce is likely to be going places. But right now, don’t you go anywhere. Not for about three minutes, anyway.

Find Royce online right here. Just don’t go and doorstep challenge the lad. He’s busy.
