Premiere: Retro Kid – ‘Retro Kid’

Electro-funk with a side slice of melancholy...

Retro Kid hail from a dark corner of Copenhagen, a place where decades overlap.

Artfully produced synth pop with a funky edge, Retro Kid's music has a nagging melancholy that gets under the skin.

Cinematic in tone, Retro Kid's debut EP is out now digitally with a limited vinyl pressing forthcoming.

Self-titled, Retro Kid have also sculpted a video for the lead cut that you can see first on Clash. Here's the introduction…

"The video introduces a blue-collar guy in a warehouse, who gets his groove on and becomes overtaken by his imagination. He feels 'the need to dance’ as he takes on the role of a DJ at his own private party. He is then visited by a couple of angels as Retro Girls who deliver him an important message: 'You will always be a Retro Kid’. Our name Retro Kid came from this line… No matter how old you are, never forget you are a kid at heart – you're never too old to enjoy electro".

Retro Kid will play the Old Queen's Head in London on February 20th.
