There's a hollow space in Oaktree's music.

For all his penchant towards frenetic techno, blistering, fragmented house music, there's always a space, a hollow out space to call your own.

It's an introversion, a latent melancholy which seems to trickle through each note. Real name Adriaan de Roover, Oaktree intends to bridge the gap between the club and the bedroom, soundsystem and headphones.

Signed to PIAS, new EP 'Chapters' will be released on Record Store Day (April 19th). Ahead of this, Clash is able to bring you the title cut before anyone else...

Opening with some grey-flecked electronic ambience, 'Chapters' then shifts into heads-down tech action with the metallic percussion matched against vocal shards.

Placing a heavy, industrial influenced segment in the breakdown, Oaktree then pulls together the varied pieces, the myriad fragments for a forceful finale.
