What happens when a techno musician swaps his electronics for an acoustic guitar?
Mooryc aka Maurycy Zimmermann is a renowned Berlin-based producer, someone ensconced in the city's astonishing club scene.
A trained musician, he recently found himself drawn back to something more organic, a little more analogue.
New release 'Wiped Out' is – essentially – a folk album, rooted in soothing guitar lines, and simple, pastoral effects.
Naturally, though, Mooryc couldn't quite escape his techno background: the recording is laced with electronics, with odd effects, loops, and other squelches.
Out on October 14th via Sonar Kollektiv, Clash is able to tease the release by premiering the title cut.
The elliptic, revolving guitar line echoes the songwriter's techno heritage, but it's a moving, organic piece of folk-hewn artistry.
Tune in now.
