Metronomy have never been shy of the dancefloor.
New album 'Summer '08' underlines this. The material reflects on the project's first brush with fame, and finds Joe Mount operating entirely alone.
Out now, it's a rich, witty, at times sombre return, with 'Summer 08' lacing together recollections of the night before.
'Night Owl' is a real highlight, with Joe Mount rarely being so open, so direct in his songwriting. Boston Bun has stepped in on remix duties, and steers Metronomy straight out under the disco ball.
There are traces of French electro in here, with the pointed synths set against Joe's vocals, that somehow manage to soar and sigh at the same time.
Electrifying stuff, you can tune in below.
