Jasper Wilde has got the funk.
The newcomer with an old school approach, the songwriter cites everyone from Kool & The Gang to prime Michael Jackson as influences.
Yet these sounds are filtered through a modern viewpoint, with the singer working alongside everyone from Bo Saris to Preditah.
New EP 'ONE' is out shortly, with Clash able to premiere 'Miss Stone'. Opening with snare cracks and a funky guitar, Jasper Wilde's voice is smooth yet sweetly enticing.
The songcraft is there, but also the production; 'Miss Stone' is aware of its influences but never overcome by them, with Jasper Wilde asserting his own personality over the sound.
Check it out now.
