Premiere: George Taylor – ‘I Hear Your Song, Sweetness’

Simple, affecting, and forlorn...

In music, it can be hard to be simple.

The temptation is to add another note, another chord, to tamper the idea that somehow fell out of the sky and landed in your lap.

George Taylor, then, is making hard things feel extremely simple indeed.

The London songwriter knows when to hold back, making his work all the more powerful for that fact.

New cut 'I Hear Your Song, Sweetness' is online now, and it's quite sweetly forlorn. He explains:

"'I Hear Your Song, Sweetness' is my song for musicians that never get heard. I spent about three years after I left school playing gigs in London clubs and pubs where either there was no one there or nobody was listening."

"I think it’s an important process to go through as you learn to craft what you’re doing, but it can be tough when you put so much in and get so little in return. This is basically a love song to struggling musicians."
