Premiere: Gavin Haley – ‘Waiting For You’

American artist with a touch of the church in his voice...

There's something about church singing, about the music of worship, that cuts a little deeper.

It's this sense of music as evoking a higher power, as transcending everyday worries in search of the sublime.

Gavin Haley started singing in his local church at the age of 12, and this background remains – slightly fainter, but still there – in his music.

An American songwriter who looks to Europe for inspiration, new cut 'Waiting For You' contains his breakout.

A lush voice cutting through minimal arrangement, the track seems to soar into the heavens. He explains:

"'Waiting For You' is every style of music I loved for the last three years put into one song. My influences would have to be Bruce Springsteen, Leonard Cohen, Ed Sheeran, and Coldplay…"
