Sweden's Frida Sundemo has many talents.
Due to appear in the adaptation of John Niven's 'Kill Your Friends' later this year, she is also set to focus on her own music.
New EP 'Lit Up By Neon' arrives on May 5th, a document fuelled by a love of pop sheen. However there's much more to Sundemo than mere melodic thrills – there's a depth here, a darkness which sits in opposition to the blissful light of her voice.
'Drawn To You' is sheer euphoria, while the yacht-rock tinged 'For You, Love' even throws in a gorgeous saxophone line.
Ahead of its release, Clash is able to offer fans another little teaser… 'Neon' opens with some soft retro-Futurist synth lines, recalling a more pop-oriented Boards of Canada.
The whole arrangement has the pure motion of running water, with Frida Sundemo's vocal the spray on top. Blessed with a chorus to die for, 'Neon' is the perfect introduction to Sundemo's work.
Listen to it now.
