Eighteen Nightmares At The Lux

Some of the most common tropes of pop culture are, if you dig a little deeper, pretty darn weird.

Take mermaids. Half woman, half fish - right? Somewhere between piscine and humane, it's a bizarre mixture which somehow restricts itself to the feminine.

Eighteen Nightmares At The Lux seem to ponder a male equivalent with the title of their new track. 'Fishman' comes lurching out of the speakers like the monster in a 50s b-movie, driven by a fuzzed up Bo Diddley riff.

A heavier, psychotic take on Chicago blues, 'Fishman' is done and dusted in a little under three minutes.

Urged forward by some truly terrifying yelps and screams, it's another lurid yet spectacularly entertaining piece of psychobilly from the London newcomers.

Check it out now.

Eighteen Nightmares At The Lux are set to play Camden Crawl on June 21st.
