Dark, feral psychedelia...

There's something about the North of England psyche which both embrace and inverts the psychedelic template.

Sure, our friends in the North love to tune in, turn on and trip out, but those trips tend to be less Californian jaunts and more intense journeys through the lesser explored rivets of the soul.

Autobahn have been gaining attention with their incredibly intense brand of psych rock, with the Leeds based outfit's Camden Crawl performance sending shivers down the spines of all present.

New EP '2' is out shortly via Tough Love, and it finds the band staying in one place just long enough for magnetic tape to capture their reverberations (and goodness knows what else).

With Autobahn set to embark on a lung-bursting set of tour dates, Clash is ready to unveil new cut 'Pale Skin'.

Sure, there's nothing new under the psychedelic sun but Autobahn's ability to re-define influences in a staggeringly intense manner renders them fresh, exciting. It's almost as if the Leeds band realise the only way in which you can truly break on through to the other side is with brute force...

Check it out now.
