Portishead To Play EXIT

Festival line up expands

Portishead are among the latest acts confirmed for this year's Serbian festival EXIT.

An important part of the Bristol sound, Portishead are part of the city's musical heritage. Yet this hasn't stopped the band from progressing, with their most recent album 'Third' being a typically forward thinking affair.

Currently working on new material, progress has been painfully slow. Secluded in the studio, Portishead founder Geoff Barrow has taken to using Twitter as a means of keeping fans informed.

Recently publishing an epic rant about the way albums are marketed these days, the producer then insisted that new material is a long way off. "Dunno where the news came from that we are releasing this year , Unless like some other bands we get someone else to write it for us!"

Later the producer wrote: "people have said Im an arrogant arse for posting about modern music marketing methods.I am truly sorry & will change my views to match yours".

When not updating his social networking feeds, Geoff Barrow will have been digging out his passport as Portishead have been added to the line up of EXIT. An epic event in Serbia, the festival began as a means of political dissent and retains a genuine atmosphere of non-conformity.

Already confirmed to play EXIT are the likes of Arcade Fire, Tiga, James Zabiela and many more. Containing more than 400 performances on 20 stages, the festival site is connected by cobbled streets, ramparts and tunnels.

Something truly different, EXIT moves between styles, genres and continents with no regards for any divide. Tickets for the four day event are on sale now!

EXIT takes place between July 7th - 10th.
