Port Eliot Fest Expands

Bristish Sea Power, Evan Dando and more

This year’s Port Eliot Festival bill has seen the addition of some big names, with British Sea Power, Noah And The Whale, Edwyn Collins and The Lemonheads’ Evan Dando set to hit the Cornwall event.

Taking place in July, the three-day festival will see the annual inclusion of stapels such as the psychedelic woodland House Of Fairy Tales,and also a new stage this year with the new Caught By The River stage, which will be set on the banks of the Port Eliot Estuary.

Edwyn Collins is set to make a triumphant return to the live circuit, after battling a tragic brain hemmorage that saw the ssinger undergo a series of opperations in 2005. But Collins remarkable recovery saw him go on to produce future records by The Cribs and release his sixth solo LP ‘Home Again’ following the event. The singer will be joined by his wife Grace Maxwell for the show.

Other addtions include grunge icon and leader of The Lemonheads Evan Dando, who will be playing a solo set at the festival. The Boston-based frontman is also currently gearing up to release a covers album and entangled in a legal dispute with car giant General Motors, who he claims used his song ‘Shame About Ray’ without permission for an ad campaign.

A new hedlining slot will go to British Sea Power, who have been planning their return with a series of summer shows, including playing gigs in libraries. The band released their soundtrack to the film 'Man Of Aaran' last month.
