'iLL Manors' due on May 7th

Plan B is set to release his new album 'iLL Manors' through Atlantic on May 7th.

Shifting from acoustic clad Grime belter to full on soul singer, Plan B's metamorphosis was remarkable. 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks' is now quadruple platinum, and remains an enduring presence on the charts.

Looking ahead, Plan B began twin new projects last year. A new film titled 'iLL Manors' is set to be released in the summer, with an album of the same name set to drop on May 7th.

Please note: this is not a soundtrack album. Songs from 'iLL Manors' (the album) do feature in 'iLL Manors' (the movie) but the crossover ends there.

Think of it as a happy marriage between film and the recording studio, or liken it to the link between 'Quadrophenia' (the album) and 'Quadrophenia' (the film).

A quote from Plan B: "You could call iLL Manors bass-line, soul, hip-hop. The album has the lyrical depth of my first record but the musical composition is light years ahead as it's informed by everything I've learnt in the last five years - writing, producing and playing with a live band. I feel I'm better than I've ever been."

'iLL Manors' (the film) is released on May 4th. The album of the same name (but quite unrelated) follows on May 7th.

Meanwhile, Plan B is planning a summer tour around British woodand. Hooking up with Forestry Commission Live Music, the dates will take place around the country.

The outdoor dates are part of an independent live music programme which operates without commercial branding or sponsorship.

Plan B is set to play the following shows:

15 Suffolk Thetford Forest, Nr Brandon
16 Notts Sherwood Pines Forest, Nr Edwinstowe
22 Kent Bedgebury Pinetum & Forest, Nr Tunbridge Wells
23 Glo. Westonbirt Arboretum, Nr Tetbury
