Placebo Album Plans
New album due in June
Eyeliner clad goth-rockers Placebo have revealed that their new album, currently without a title, will be released in June.
Led by Brian Molko, Placebo scared the Britpop class of '96 shitless with their make up and crunching riffs. Early single 'Nancy Boy' set the tone - loud and defiant, it screamed in the face of the band's Kappa wearing peers.
Now with new drummer Steve Forrest in tow the group have been working on the follow up to 2006's album 'Meds'. Produced by David Bottrill, the record does not currently have a title as yet but it is scheduled for a June release.
Placebo have now signed with PIAS, and lead singer Brian Molko had the following to say about the switch. "We were very lucky to have so many great labels interested in signing us, it means a lot, especially after 12 years of releasing records!"
"But we now feel we have the right partner for Europe in these ever-changing times to continue this crazy adventure and to scale even dizzier heights with our new record."
Placebo are set to release their new album in June.
