Black Francis has sparked rumors yet again about the future of 90's alt. legends The Pixie's plans to record an album by recently claiming "It's just a waiting game right now".

The band have released new material since their 1991 album 'Trumpe le Monde', in the shape of 2004's single 'Bam Thwok' although with their turbulent history few ever thought a new record was possible (in their heyday the band regularly fought on-stage and famously broke up by fax (ouch!).

With Kim Deal still currently working with The Breeders and Black Francis releasing albums at lightning rate, it still looks to be early days for the band's possible studio stint. Speaking to an American music site, Francis also noted "I have to see if the band as a whole wants to go into the recording studio for a new record..". "That makes sense on some level. For us, there's gotta be an angle. It can't be just playing our old songs over and over."
